General Tips:

  • Focus primarily on the audio material – Unlike Spanish textbooks or written materials you may have used in the past, One Month Spanish is primarily focused on working with audio. This means that most of your learning will take place while listening, repeating and responding to the audio segments of each lesson. The text portion of each lesson is provided to introduce the audio, but most of your time and effort should be dedicated to the audio material.

  • Master each topic before moving on to the next lesson – The primary goal of One Month Spanish is help you quickly achieve a functional level of oral proficiency (listening and speaking). One of the keys to proficient oral communication is to have the various patterns of the language so deeply ingrained, that producing them happens almost without conscious thought. To achieve this level of proficiency it will be important to repeat the drills and exercises until the responses come almost automatically. Repeat each drill as many times as you need until you can correctly answer most of the items in each drill without struggle.

  • Don't be intimidated by the speed of the audio – The audio presents native speakers speaking at using near-native speed and pronunciation. This may sound uncomfortably fast at first, but provides a more realistic learning experience that will significantly improve your ability to understand native speakers as your become more accustomed to it.
